Roll up your sleeves for a two-day deep dive into the most significant shift in our careers: the rise of AI-native workflows that make professional-grade software accessible to designers, programmers, and media server operators across every discipline.
Guided by Dylan Roscover—Partner and Technical Director at TEC and returning LDI instructor—attendees will build working TouchDesigner projects from scratch using Embody (open-source externalization and version control), Envoy (an MCP server that lets AI create, inspect, and modify live TD networks through natural-language conversation), and the new TDN open file format for TouchDesigner networks.
Day One covers the inversion itself: making projects AI-accessible, and directing AI to scaffold media server architecture, DMX lighting cues, and show control systems.
Day Two covers production: LED content pipelines, projection-mapping setups, and fleet monitoring—the workflows behind tours, permanent installs, and immersive experiences.
Every attendee leaves with a working, show-ready TD project they architected with AI, plus full commercial licenses to Starlight, Moonshine, and Owlette—the studio tools featured in class. Type "add Kandinsky-inspired shapes that pulse to the beat" and watch TouchDesigner build it in front of you.
Walk out with a working show file you can plug into a real gig: DMX control systems, cues, presets, MIDI and OSC control, pixel mapping, and clean output to LED walls or projectors. Keep tabs on every show computer in your rig from your phone—and know the second something's about to go wrong, not after. Hand files back and forth with your programmer, your video designer, and your AI agents, all without stepping on each other or breaking the show.
In regards to being TouchDesigner-focused for this session: The Great Inversion isn't a TouchDesigner story. It's a creative-software story. Flopperam is doing this for Unreal. Blender has MCP servers. Figma, After Effects, Cinema 4D — every binary-file creative tool is racing to expose itself to AI agents, because the tools that don't, die. TouchDesigner is the most open tool ("Swiss army knife") for live production, and that's why we're going to spend the next two days inside of it. But you're going to leave this room understanding the pattern, not just the tool — because wherever you go next, this pattern is going to be there waiting.
