Session details:
Over the past decade, the use of computer graphics in live production has changed dramatically, however one term has stayed with us throughout all this time: Media Server. In this presentation, Michael Kohler will explore the history, present, and future of live production graphics, and try to catalog the evolution of the media server, from a physical box, into a deeper conceptual idea. Make no mistake, the media server probably isn't dead, however recent developments in the industry have resulted in a far more diverse and exciting landscape of products than the traditional rackmount boxes. Its this transformation that has us asking the question "What is a media server?"
