Universal Epic Universe opened to the public on May 22, 2025. Besides being the first new theme park to open in Orlando since the 1990’s, it strove to be a ground breaker. The goal was to put the "park" back in theme park. The entry land of Celestial Park took that goal one step further, they wanted to light that park up! Thousands of universes, tons of collaboration, and endless sleepless nights led to the incredible nightscape described by USA Today as the “Glowing Heart of Epic Universe.” The lighting designers, show lighting responsible individuals, and show lighting integrator will discuss the ins and outs of how Epic turns it up after the sun goes down.
