
Zoe Sandoval
New Media Artist
Bio:
Zoe is a Mexican-Venezuelan new media artist and experience designer who specializes in interactive installations and immersive experiences. Her work spans documentary, live performance, XR and experimentation with emerging technologies. Their creative practice explores the aesthetics of wonder, play, ritual, alchemy and magical realism.
In 2020, Zoe co-founded the software and design studio, SudoMagic, where she helps produce and design interactive experiences. She has created activations for Google Research, T-Mobile, Meta, Disney, and California State Parks among others.
Previously, Zoe worked as a project manager and creative producer at the UCLA Center for Research in Engineering, Media and Performance (REMAP), developing innovative approaches to immersive storytelling and audience engagement. She has also lectured at UC Santa Cruz’s Art & Design: Games & Playable Media program, and frequently teaches workshops on interactive design, emerging technologies and working with the realtime software, TouchDesigner.
Zoe received an MFA from UC Santa Cruz in the Digital Arts + New Media program, and a BA in Film, Television and Digital Media from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
SudoMagic is a boutique design and software development studio that partners with organizations to bring their creative and technical ideas to life. The team at SudoMagic has produced everything from branded activations to immersive experiences, from permanent installations to bespoke pipeline tools and resources. Their clients include Meta, T-Mobile, UCLA and Derivative, among others. SudoMagic is passionate about designing and crafting new storytelling experiences.
