Bio:

Tyler DeLong is an ETCP-certified Theatre and Arena Rigger, ETCP-Recognized Trainer, and the founder of DeLong Rigging Solutions. With decades in the live-event and theatrical rigging industry, Tyler has worked across a wide range of venues—from historic theaters to large-scale arenas—specializing in complex problem-solving, safety-focused design, and real-world application of rigging standards.

As an educator, Tyler is known for translating abstract calculations and standards into practical decision-making that works on the floor. His training approach blends modern codes and best practices with the realities of aging infrastructure, time pressure, and human factors that define live production environments. He regularly leads rigging courses and intensives for professional technicians, unions, and institutions throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Tyler is also the founder of the DeLong Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality technical training and workforce development in entertainment production. Through this work, he focuses on mentorship, skills transfer, and building sustainable career pathways for the next generation of technicians.

Whether teaching, consulting, or working hands-on, Tyler’s focus remains consistent: safer systems, clearer thinking, and better outcomes for the people who rely on rigging every day.
