Robert Bell

Bio:

Robert Bell is a Consulting Director for Product Market at Acuity Brands, where he oversees the development of the entire Pathway Connectivity product line. He holds multiple U.S. patents in lighting controls and networking, all assigned to Acuity Brands.

In 1992, Robert received the inaugural Wally Russell Newcomer Award for creating WYSIWYG, the Emmy Award-winning previsualization software. He is a regular contributor to entertainment lighting periodicals and the author of Let There Be Light: Conversations with Lighting Pioneers.

With roots in rock ‘n’ roll touring and broadcast television during the 1990s, Robert spent the 2000s as a product manager for Strand Lighting and a Brand Ambassador for Vari*Lite. For the past 20 years, he has served on ESTA’s Control Protocol Working Group, the body responsible for advancing DMX, RDM, and sACN as ANSI standards.
