Paul Miller
Bio:
Dr. Paul Miller, Ed.D., is a transformational leader in education, a visionary author, and a fierce advocate for underserved communities. With over 25 years of experience in urban public education, Dr. Miller has dedicated his life to reshaping schools and empowering youth through strategic leadership and unwavering commitment. He earned both his Doctorate in Executive Leadership and Master’s in Education Administration from St. John Fisher College, along with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport.
His career began in the Rochester City School District, where he laid the foundation for his philosophy of equity, accountability, and student-centered leadership. When he transitioned to Albany, he brought these concepts to life, leading Green Tech Charter High School to national prominence with a 95% graduation rate for Black males, 100% college acceptance, and over $25 million in annual scholarships.
Today, Dr. Miller is the Chief Academic Officer of EDceptional, which supports 29 charter schools by improving the educator pipeline through credentialing, new teacher training, and parent advocacy. He also operates Urbane Education Alterations; a national consulting firm focused on boosting graduation rates and reshaping school culture. He is currently expanding the Green Tech model to new communities, continuing his mission of educational equity through his 501C3 Building Capacity.
Dr. Miller’s impact has earned him major national recognition, including the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the NAACP’s “Living Legend” honor, and the Keys to New York City in 2024 from the Arit Fuller Foundation. He served on the Southern Christian Leadership Conference’s Next Generation Leadership Council and is one of the few researchers to examine cyberbullying through the lens of Black girls. He’s a frequent guest on national media discussing educational justice and reform.
As an author, Dr. Miller has published six powerful books: “Cyberbullying: Breaking the Cycle of Conflict,” “We Need to Do Better,” “We Need to Do Better 2.0,” “From the Gutter to Greatness,” and “Moving from the Gutter to Greatness: The 21-Day Challenge.” His sixth book, Amazon Best Seller, “The Good Me and The Hood Me,” is his first children’s book and explores identity, duality, and positive decision-making, while travels the globe with the “Educated Black Man Speaking Tour”.
Despite a long list of accolades, Dr. Miller remains most proud of helping students walk across graduation stages with confidence, knowledge, and purpose. His life’s work is about breaking cycles, building legacies, and transforming pain into power.
