Bio:

Paul Dexter is a Creative Director, Production Designer, and one of the pioneers of modern concert lighting and stage design. Touring since 1973, he has spent more than five decades helping shape the visual language of live entertainment.

As President and Lead Designer of Masterworks Design, Paul creates immersive stage environments that integrate lighting, scenic design, and video content for major touring productions. His work focuses on building visual worlds that strengthen the connection between artists and audiences. Masterworks also applies this creative approach to architectural lighting projects and retrofit solutions.

Throughout his career, Paul has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists, including Elton John, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, TRIUMPH, REO Speedwagon, Rick James, Mötley Crüe, DIO, Billy Preston, and Dr. John. His work has also extended to film and television, including serving as Concert Lighting Director for the feature film Rock Star.

A respected educator and industry advocate, Paul is co-author, with James L. Moody, of Concert Lighting: Techniques, Art and Business and The Art and Business of Entertainment Lighting, and has written more than 100 industry articles. He also served as Show Director and Production Designer for the Las Vegas hit Raiding the Rock Vault during its 13-year run.

Paul is currently serving as Production Designer for TRIUMPH: Rock & Roll Machine – RELOADED. He remains passionate about sharing road stories, creative process, and the importance of continually evolving as both an artist and professional.
