Michelle Sparkman

Bio:

I have made really good use of my Bachelor of Arts degree! I’m a lighting programmer, operator, technician, educator, and content creator who’s
spent the last 10 years behind the scenes of concerts, festivals, corporate events, and live entertainment.

I started sharing the behind-thescenes of my work because I realized my family and friends had no idea how to explain my job and the technical magic that goes into a live show. Along the way, that turned me into an AV content creator and educator. Now I’m here to make AV more approachable, share what I’ve learned, laugh, and hopefully convince a few more people that working behind the scenes is just as cool as being on stage.

And somewhere in between programming shows and creating content, I became a mom… so these days I’m also figuring out how to build a career in an industry that traditionally expects you to be everywhere, all the time. Currently running on even more caffeine and questionable sleep than ever before! I’m so excited for the journey ahead and to see where I go next in this new chapter.
