Bio:
Manuel Avila is a live event production and touring operations professional with over 30 years of international experience across concert touring, festivals, and large-scale cultural and governmental events throughout North America and Mexico. His work focuses on end-to-end production logistics, including venue operations, freight coordination, and multi-site touring execution in complex and high-pressure environments.
He currently works with 2 Rivers Remix Society in British Columbia, where he leads the development of off-grid live event production systems in remote Indigenous communities. This work integrates modular battery power systems, electric vehicle logistics, and efficient touring workflows to deliver full-scale productions in locations without access to traditional infrastructure.
His production experience includes touring with major artists, managing cross-border logistics, and coordinating large-format events such as international festivals and high-security summits. Recent work includes deploying professional touring systems such as StageLine SL100 staging, d&b audiotechnik PA systems, LED video walls, and LED lighting rigs optimized for constrained energy environments.
A key component of his current practice is integrating Indigenous youth training into live production deployments, building technical capacity through real-world field operations in staging, audio, lighting, and event systems.
