Bio:
After two decades leading projects for Theatre Projects Consultants, Jules left the partnership to work independently, providing consulting and business development services as Jules Lauve Associates LLC. His extensive career in theatrical design, touring, and casino entertainment management have contributed to realizing important major capital projects worldwide. Serving as the theatrical conscience of a project, Jules listens actively to the client’s wants and needs, then collaborates with the client and the design and construction teams to help achieve those aspirations through the planning, designing, building, and equipping of performance spaces fit for purpose.
Significant projects of the more than 100 he has led as project manager include: Winspear Opera House, Dallas, TX; Han Show Theatre, Wuhan, Hubei, China; House of Dancing Water Theatre, City of Dreams Resort, Macau, China; Kennedy Center Master Plan, Washington DC; Gogue Performing Arts Center, Auburn University, Auburn, AL; Empower Amphitheatre at Lakeview, Lake Onondaga, Syracuse, NY; Santander Performing Arts Center, Jalisco, Mexico; Teatro Teleton, Santiago, Chile; Teatro del Bicentenario Performing Arts Center, Leon, MX; University of Central Florida Performing Arts Center Phase 1; Richmond CenterStage, Richmond, VA; Wynn Macau Theatre, Macau, China; Auditorio Telmex, Guadalajara, Mexico; Wynn Las Vegas, Grail Theatre; and Tokyo Disney/Cirque du Soleil, Tokyo, Japan.
Following undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate training at Stephen F. Austin State University, University of Southern California, and Art Center College of Design, his career has included: designing scenery and lighting for theatre, opera, and ballet; touring with Barry Manilow and “Sesame St. LIVE!" (lighting designer, rigger, and tractor-trailer driver); and casino entertainment management in Atlantic City – and in Las Vegas where, as entertainment director at Treasure Island Casino Hotel, he produced the “Buccaneer Bay Sea Battle” - the original fiery front feature.
Jules is a member of the American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC), the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), and the Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) (immediate past president). He has guest lectured at Stephen F. Austin State University and Yale University.
