Joe Champelli

Bio:

Joe Champelli leads automation strategy and engineering efforts for PRG’s scenic group, supporting teams with reliable, thoughtfully designed systems that enhance live experiences while prioritizing safety, precision, and operational excellence.

Joe brings more than 30 years of experience in automation systems, machinery design, operations, and project management. Throughout his career, he has contributed to large-scale productions and immersive entertainment projects including The Sphere, Cirque du Soleil’s ‘O’ at Bellagio, and multiple projects for Disney.

He has held leadership roles across the entertainment technology industry and is recognized for his expertise in automation and rigging safety standards. Joe is ETCP certified in Arena and Stage rigging; is an ETCP recognized trainer, and holds an MFA in Technical Production from Penn State University.
