Jackson Cobb
Video Programmer
Bio:
I'm a video programmer/systems engineer/creative technologist based in Brooklyn, NY.
Live music, theatre, and virtual production are my specialties. I work on large scale concerts, shows on and off Broadway, national tours, VP studio installations, and brand activations/immersive experiences.
My toolkit includes Disguise, RenderStream, TouchDesigner, Unreal Engine, nDisplay, Pixera, Resolume, After Effects, Vectorworks, Blender, and a comprehensive understanding of show control protocols from OSC to Timecode. I bring a deep understanding of content workflows, from spherical LL180 3D rendering to traditional 2D After Effects comps.
I believe every choice matters when you're telling a story. Every link in the chain—from content design to systems engineering—should contribute to the story you’re trying to tell. In what ways do performers and audiences interact with your media content? Which media server fits both the needs of your show and your budget? These are the questions I'll help you answer as part of your team.
I hold a B.A. in Digital Media Arts from Hamline University and an M.F.A. in Design and Production (Integrated Media for Live Performance) from The University of Texas at Austin.
