Isabella Koontz

Bio:

Hi! I'm Isabella Koontz: a director, lighting designer, producer, and founder of Larken Lighting and Productions. 

I love bringing stories to life whether that be on screen or on stage. My work blends technical skills with a collaborative, people-first mindset. I love diving into the details of behind the scenes and I'm always ready to learn something new.

I created Larken Lighting and Productions to support creative teams from film to theater to live events. No matter the scope of the production, Larken Lighting is there to make it shine whether that be through lighting, directing, or more. 

I am a senior at George Mason University, majoring in Cinematic Arts Production (Concentration in Directing) with a minors in Event Technical Production (Concentration in Lighting Design) and Marketing. While in school I have directed, producer, gaffed, assistant directed, and script supervised over 15 student film productions. On the theater side I've been a director, lighting designer, and props manager on a variety of shows.

I've been working in lighting since I was twelve and began working professionally in Richmond at fifteen. Since then I've lit a everything from dance performances to concerts to musicals, plays to show choir competitions- and I still get excited every time I walk into a production. I love the challenge of creating something unique and meaningful for every performance.
