Bio:
Herrick has received numerous accolades throughout his illustrious career, including a 2020 Drama Desk Nomination for Einstein's Dreams, the 2018 SALT Award for Wizard of Oz at Syracuse Stage, and Henry Hewes nominations for Rooms: A Rock Romance and Falling for Eve. He has also been recognized with the ISES Big Apple Award for Best Event Lighting, the Live Design Excellence Award for Best Theatrical Lighting Design, the inaugural Live Design Redden Award for Excellence in Theatrical Design, THEA award for the Encanto Experience at Camp stores NYC.
Film and television work: “The Man Wth the Bag”, “Russian Doll”, “Spiderman 2”, “Sisters”, “Rough Night”, “Royal Pains” and more.
With over 30 years of professional experience, Herrick has an extensive portfolio that spans off-Broadway and regional shows, hundreds of corporate events, permanent installations at Madame Tussauds NY and Las Vegas, The water feature at LaGuardia Airport, and major tours including the recent Shrek National Tour. For the last 6 years he has been the designer of the Virginia International Military Tattoo, the nation’s largest tattoo.
He has also taught lighting design at MIT and has created art on every continent except Antarctica.
Recently Herrick & Evoke Collaborative have been helping create and improve on architectural projects around the country such as NYC’s Little Island, The Perelman Center (PAC NYC), Booz Allen’s Helix and the soon to open Glazer Hall in Palm Beach.
Notable favorite designs encompass Jasper in Deadland, Rooms, Godspell, A Chorus Line, and The Who’s Tommy 15th Anniversary at Broadway’s August Wilson.
Evoke Collaborative was born from Herrick's desire to push creative boundaries and tackle challenging projects with the talented individuals he collaborates with most often. He is a proud member of Local USA 829, IATSE.
