Greg Smith

Bio:

Greg Smith started in the Live Events Production Business in 1984 as a live sound
mixer before moving into managing people and growing a successful audio company
in the corporate theater industry. Following this, he spent 28 years helping
companies get their arms around the incredible amounts of data and information
related to today's productions using rental management software. Building on this
experience, Greg began helping companies not only with software, but with
workflows, processes, and cash flow management. 

In 2024 Greg decided to bring his experience to the very irritating and time-
consuming process of locating and managing cross rentals or subhires between
companies. He purchased Second Warehouse, Inc. and began a renovation that
resulted in the launch of Pro Subrental Marketplace. www.prosubmarket.com's goal
is to build new relationships between live events companies which are constantly
filling production gear shortfalls by subrenting from other companies. Knowing that
warehouses are holding about 70% of a company's inventory about 80% of the year,
Greg knew that subrentals are a great way to easily fill shortages without blowing up
a company's capital budget. 

Greg’s experience gives him a unique perspective on what rental companies need
from software platforms and a real-world understanding of how to make these
businesses successful. He provides the level of insight needed to help rental
companies make the right decisions for their business.
