Cort Lawrence

Show Designer & Director

Raw Cereal

Bio:

Cort Lawrence’s shows are not built for spectacle alone. They are designed to resonate with artists, with teams, and with the audiences who carry them home.

Born in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Cort began his career as a render artist, helping bring other designers’ ideas to life through 3D modeling. It gave him a visual foundation but not a practical one. Determined to understand how a show truly comes together, he started over as a stagehand, learning the mechanics of touring from the ground up. He already knew the objects. Now he learned the reasons behind them.

Along the way, Cort worked with designers like Paul Normandale and Scott Holthaus, whose creative instincts helped shape his own. He credits production manager Narci Martinez for teaching him the most valuable lesson of all: how to lead through challenges with calm, direction, and persistence.

In 2022, Cort co-founded Raw Cereal with partner Anders Rahm. The studio was built on the belief that collaboration creates better outcomes. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Raw Cereal now supports touring productions, brand experiences, and one-night-only events with a mix of visual direction, technical leadership, and creative care.

Cort has traveled the world designing shows in stadiums, arenas, and outdoor festivals. He now lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, Zoë, and continues to lead creative work across the world.
