Ben Díaz

Bio:

Currently leading the product vision at Astera as Head of Product Management, and mostly known for being the man who created the multi-awarded ARRI SkyPanel X lighting system, managed the first IP-66 moving heads when at SGM, or launched the iconic Astera QuikSpot and LunaBulb, Ben Díaz is a senior lighting designer, product manager, director of photography, and author with a long and satisfying career focused in lighting, cinematography, stage arts, video, product development, technical marketing, architecture, education, and design. While developing his career as senior executive, Ben frequently speaks at webinars, lectures, and technical masterclasses for schools, associated professionals, lighting conferences and non-profit organisations. 

In 2024 Ben Díaz released a method for stage lighting "Design, Lighting and Contrast," published by Lighting Adepts / Planeta Namec SL, now in its 2nd Edition. He's also a full member of the AAIV, the biggest IberoAmerican Association of Lighting Designers. After joining professional crews in 34 countries from 4 continents, receiving 11 Industry Awards for the products he released (including LDI Best Debuting Lighting Product 2024) and accumulating 25 years of experience in AV media and lighting technology, Ben Díaz still loves to learn about state-of-the-art concepts and study educational materials. What he enjoys the most is leading brands, products, and teams that are committed to high-end quality, continuous innovation, and user-centered design, creating strategies based on extensive research, accurate validation procedures, and creative passion.
