As audio, lighting, video, and control systems continue to move onto the network, understanding the fundamentals of networking has become an essential skill for AV professionals.

This session aims to make converged networking for AV easy and focuses on the concepts you actually encounter in the field. We'll break down topics like network topology, IP addressing and subnetting, bandwidth, PoE, VLANs, multicast, redundancy, and the basic tools used to understand what is happening on a network.

A large portion of the workshop with be hands on with networking equipment, and setting up real work networks together connecting these concepts directly to real-world AV applications and show how they affect the systems we build, deploy, and troubleshoot every day.

Whether you work in audio, lighting, video, integration, live production, or you're simply finding yourself dealing with networks more often than you used to, this session is designed to give you a stronger foundation and greater confidence when working with networked AV systems.
