 Press Releases

  • K-array, renowned manufacturer of unique audio solutions, has brought their revolutionary design to select Shared_Studios Portals to connect people across distance and difference with crystal-clear audio. K-array's Azimut System currently powers Portals in New York, Dallas, Richmond, Colorado Springs and San Francisco.

Shared_Studios connects people separated by distance and difference through Portals — immersive physical structures that bring people together face-to-face with someone somewhere else on earth, live and full-body — as if in the same room.

“The Azimut System provides exceptional sound quality in a tiny, elegant packet,” says Shared_Studios Founder and Creative Director, Amar C. Bakshi. “In our Portals we are trying to achieve the most natural audio reproduction with practically technology invisible. The design of the Azimut, coupled with its powerful, highly intelligent sound, allows us to achieve just that.”

”This unique initiative by Shared_Studios really compliments our company ethos that sound design is not just providing loudspeakers, but creating meaningful experiences by utilizing high-end audio technology in a small, compact frame that goes virtually unnoticed,” says Rusty Waite, President of K-array USA.  “It’s a very innovative concept and we are happy that we can help connect people all over the world."

Through Portals outfitted with K-array Solutions at The Africa Center in New York, USA and Freedom Park in Lagos, Nigeria, artists Maka and Olithea were able to collaborate as if in the same studio. Check out the video here to see K-array Systems and Portals in action.
