  • Minneapolis, Minn. – The all-new BLUE POD and BLUE POD AIR from Williams AV are ready to revolutionize the world of audio conferencing with the innovative integration of Bluetooth® technology.

Tap BLUE POD to simplify conference calls in your meeting rooms using your mobile device. Make a call by simply touching the Bluetooth connect button on your phone; no special software is needed. Use the iOS and Android apps for complete system setup control. Select the speakers and microphones you want to use. BLUE POD features an integrated mixer with DSP functions, including Acoustic Echo Cancellation. The mixer includes four inputs, two line outputs and two 25-watt amplifiers. The patent-pending design allows for integration of the Bluetooth transceiver (the POD) into the ceiling directly over your workspace, minimizing distance limitations and signal blockage.

BLUE POD AIR showcases all the features of the BLUE POD – plus wireless video display mirroring for mobile devices using Airplay®, Google Chromecast and Miracast™. So, in addition to functioning as an amazing Bluetooth audio conferencing system, the BLUE POD AIR allows for easy connection of your mobile device to the room display. Simply tap the display-mirroring connect button already on your device. BLUE POD AIR is also equipped with an HDMI output, supporting up to 1080P. Installation is as simple as installing an HDMI cable directly to your display. It’s easy to integrate BLUE POD and BLUE POD AIR into your existing audio system as an input source on an existing audio mixer, or by using the existing speakers in the room.

“It has long been a hurdle for many integrators to design integrated audio/video rooms that support wireless devices such as PCs, tablets and smartphones,” says Rob Sheeley, president and CEO of Williams AV. “Most wireless users expect a simple solution to wirelessly connect their devices to a room’s AV system. We challenged ourselves to design a system allowing integrators to select appropriate speakers, microphones and displays for the room -- and then allow any mobile device to access them. BLUE POD and BLUE POD AIR are the first systems designed specifically for mobile-device users who demand a professional AV experience using best-in-class AV transducer components.”

  • Change reflects strategic business changes and expansion into new AV markets

Minneapolis, Minn. – Williams Sound and Pointmaker, global manufacturers of wireless communication, video annotation and presentation technologies, are pleased to announce the launch of their new brand and corporate identity Williams AV. Accompanying this official announcement are the company’s new logo design and new domain name (WilliamsAV.com).

Last year, Williams Sound acquired Pointmaker. Going forward, the combined organization will continue to market its current products, as well as successfully blend audio and video expertise into new and exciting solutions for its customers. The overall organization will be called Williams AV, while its products will be categorized under one of two major product lines -- Williams Sound or Pointmaker.

Says Rob Sheeley, CEO of Williams AV, “With the exciting new direction and product transformation we are leading at Williams Sound and Pointmaker, we needed to create a brand that reflected these changes. The name Williams AV better defines our mission of being a complete AV solution provider and not just an assistive listening and annotation product company. As we launch all of our new products in the next four months, you will begin to see our new vision here at Williams AV and how it will provide exciting new integration opportunities for our dealers and integrators."

Adds Tom Mingo, executive VP of sales and marketing for Williams AV, “Williams Sound and Pointmaker once served very specific market niches. We have worked hard to break through those. We see no constraints now. This is a new organization. This new name and branding definitely poises us for growth and the exciting opportunity to explore new avenues of technology."
