Live For Broadcast Pavilion

In addition to three in-depth film and lighting sessions in the LDInnovation Conference, LDI is pleased to present a series of Live For Broadcast sessions in a special Live For Broadcast Pavilion on the LDI show floor. Join PRG, lead sponsor for the Live For Broadcast Pavilion, for technology presentations as well as hands-on opportunities with their lights, cameras, and switchers. Sessions by speakers include such top Live For Broadcast LDs as Bob Barnhart, Mike Berger, Matt Cotter, Oscar Dominguez, Josh Hutchins, Tiffany Keyes, and Jeff Ravitz*. Sunday Sensory Stroll With FEAT (Families For Effective Autism Treatment)

For the second year, we welcome families affected by Autism to explore the LDI show floor, check out the lighting and video displays at various booths, immerse in an interactive sensory booth featuring various lighting and audio-visual set-ups. The tour of various booths and lighting and video displays across the Exhibit Hall and conclude at the Live Experience Lounge with an immersive, interactive sensory booth, featuring various lighting and audiovisual setups, provided by Encore Productions, MASARY Studios, and WorldStage.

NEW Event Co-Produced By LDI and XLIVE

LiveXperience Symposium

November 20 at MGM Grand

XLIVE and LDI present LiveXperience Symposium, a full-day symposium on experiential immersive design. From brand activations to cutting-edge entertainment, the experience is the thing, and the more immersive the better. Meet the players, from the agencies that serve as the creative catalysts for brand activations and producers that create immersive entertainment events to the designers who bring them to life with an arsenal of high-tech tools, in a full day of panels and talks. Installations include SOUND SCULPTURE, an interactive sound and light instrument. Created by Masary Studios, the 25 location-aware blocks comprise a massive, wireless MIDI controller. Various sound and lights scores are realized in cooperation with the public through creative play.

NEW Diversity In Design Initiative!

Pat MacKay Diversity in Design Scholarship Recipients
Saturday, November 23, 5:30PM – Live Experience Lounge

Join us in celebrating the inaugural recipients of the Pat MacKay Diversity in Design Scholarships introduced to support the underrepresented and unique voices in the field of entertainment design. These student winners of the scholarships—Nina Field, Mackenzie Gauthier, Joss Green, Tyler Christian Harris, Amara McNeil, Sydney Smith—are currently enrolled in lighting, digital media, and sound design programs on an undergraduate level. They will participate in "Shaking Things Up: The Case For Diversity In Live Events” on Saturday, November 23, 12:30PM-1:30PM and be announced at the LDI Awards ceremony on the show floor at 5:30PM on Saturday.

Shaking Things Up: The Case for Diversity in Live Events

Saturday, November 23, 12:30PM-1:30PM – Live Experience Lounge

Take part in a discussion about the current shake-ups and diversity and inclusivity in our industry – we’ll provide the frozen shakes. Moderated by Andrea Jepson, you’ll meet the recipients of the Pat MacKay scholarships and join a panel of professionals in a conversation on how inclusive practices in hiring and training lead to a diverse workforce, the effects of implicit bias in the choices we make for ourselves and about others, and how cognitive diversity changes the conversation.

LDI 5K Fun Run

Friday, November 22 from 6:00AM – 8:00AM

Introducing the first annual LDI 5K Fun Run to be held Friday, November 22 from 6AM to 8AM at the Las Vegas Convention Center. All proceeds of the Fun Run will benefit the Behind the Scenes charity, which provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured. Participants can enjoy post-run beer, water, and donuts, courtesy of Ambersphere Solutions Ltd, the exclusive UK sales, support, service, and training center for Astera, Ayrton, MA Lighting, Robert Juliat, and Zactrack entertainment lighting products.

Event Schedule:

6:00am – 6:30am: Registration, Hall C lobby, outside C4 entrance
6:30am – 6:35am: Announcement/course briefing
6:35am – 7:35am: LDI 5K
7:00am – 8:00am: Beer and donuts celebration at finish, courtesy of Ambersphere Solutions
