Alcance internacional en el LDI2017

LDI continúa ampliando su formación profesional en español este año, con una serie de sesiones sobre el diseño de vanguardia y la tecnología para nuestros asistentes de habla hispana de América Latina.

LDI is continues to bring high-quality professional training to the Latin American market with a special LDI-branded program called Entrenamiento LDI, with three days of sessions in lighting, projection, and rigging, and a networking cocktail reception with industry professionals. This program will be co-located with sound:check Xpo in Mexico City on April 23-25, 2017.

Entrenamiento LDI has a stellar line-up of speakers, which includes Cocolab, a collective of artists who created the night experience at the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, the nightly projection of the archaeological site of Chichen-Itza; Seth Jackson who has designed lighting and scenery for Don Henley, Jason Mraz, Hilary Duff, and American Idols Live; concert lighting and production designer Cory FitzGerald, who discusses some of his major projects for artists such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Bruno Mars, Janet Jackson, and Skrillex at Coachella; and Pablo N. Molina, designer of music concerts, theatrical, and architectural experiences.

Training sessions include Safe Operation of CM Lodestar ET Chain Motors, presented by Edgar Castro Bermúdez, CMCO Trainer for Latin America and MA Lighting dot2 and grandMA Console Training a full day of MA Lighting console training with both the grandMA and dot2 consoles.

Cocolab: Innovate Audiovisual Installations

Sunday April 23, 2017: 3:00PM – 4:30PM

Using light, Cocolab has created several projects that have an impact on the culture of Mexico, such as the night experience at the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, the nightly projection of the archaeological site of Chichen-Itza. This group experiments with light through the manipulation of control software that they themselves develop. Each of its projects, Cocolab aims to inspire as many people as possible in Mexico and the world. In this session they will approach their process of creation and imagination to designing immersive, large-format audiovisual installations.

Seth Jackson: Design Perspectives

Sunday, April 23: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Seth Jackson has designed lighting and scenery for Don Henley, Jason Mraz, Hilary Duff, Melissa Etheridge, American Idols Live, Barry Manilow, Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, Alice Cooper, Kenny G, was part of the design team for Star Wars in Concert, and is an assistant professor of design at the Conservatory of the Theatre Arts at Webster University. He will discuss his process and techniques for designing for different musical styles, explore how technology informs his design choices, and how artist interaction affects the process.

Pablo N. Molina: Video Systems And Design Techniques

Monday, April 24, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Pablo N. Molina, designer of music concerts, theatrical, and architectural experiences, will present case studies of video systems he has designed over the past couple years for shows of all scales and budgets. He will also describe his content design process and some of his favorite tools for real-time rendering and video processing. Topics covered will include complex mapping strategies, reactive content, custom software, and advanced system integration.

Cory FitzGerald: Designer on Design

Monday, April 24, 6pm-7:30pm

Concert lighting and production designer Cory FitzGerald discusses some of his major projects for artists such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Bruno Mars, Janet Jackson, and Skrillex at Coachella. He will talk about design decisions, selection and use of gear, technical challenges, and how to design for some of the biggest names in the music business. He will talk through the constantly changing processes of creating, destroying and rebuilding ideas from the blank page to the stage and how to learn from successes and mistakes, taking shows from great ideas to completed tasks and starting all over again!
