Debuting Product Awards Presented at LDI Las Vegas

The 2008 Live Design International Awards were presented to the best debuting products launched at LDI and are available for the first time on the show floor. The winners were selected on site by a panel of industry experts, working in conjunction with the editors of Live Design, with an eye toward the latest in technology. The panels of judges evaluated only new products that are launched in the United States for the first time at LDI 2008.

Best Debuting Products

Lighting Winners (2):

Awarded to ETC Unison Paradigm system, which fully fuses architectural lighting control advances with entertainment lighting-control technology

Awarded to PRG's Nila, a revolutionary new lighting solution for the entertainment industry setting an unprecedented environmental standard for low-energy consumption, while delivering unmatched lighting performance and product versatility.

Projection:

Awarded to Element Labs Helix P1, which offers amazing display-shaping opportunities. It is flexible, durable, and has user-specific pixel pitch..

Honorable mention: United Visual Artists for d3—a paradigm shift in control environments for media servers.

Rigging and Staging:

Awarded to Steeldeck’s APACK retractable audience tiering system that can be curved.

Sound:

Awarded to DiGiCo SD8 console, which features a lot of horsepower in a compact footprint, making it affordable and powerful

Special Effects

Awarded to City Theatrical for the DMX Snow Machine developed in conjunction with White Light.

Booth Awards:

Big Booth

Awarded to COEMAR, for using light as shape and sculpture, with a great use of color and a good presentation of their product in a very user-friendly booth.

Small Booth

Awarded to PIXEL RANGE for a vibrant use of LEDs in a very small area: eye-catching from afar while maintaining a comfortable environment in the booth.

Creative Use
of Light

Awarded to VARI-LITE, for subtle and cohesive use of their entire product line to create an immersive lighting environment.

Product Presentation

Awarded to FISHER TECHNICAL SERVICES for a truly elegant way of presenting rigging technology.
